East Vancouver encompasses mostly working-class neighbourhoods whose houses now sell at middle-class prices. It's a mixed neighbourhood, once home to dock workers, Italian immigrants, and the working poor. At present it is under-going many changes, so it is no longer the outpost that it once was.
