On November 11, 2006, the Remembrance Day Memorial Service was held at 10:30am at Grandview Park on Commercial Drive and Charles Street in East Vancouver. Wreaths were laid to honour and remember those who gave their lives in the service of our country. |

The Parade of the Lost Souls began at William and Cotton on October 28, 2006 and ended at Granview Park. Hundreds of people materialized in their costumes to celebrate the Cycle of Life, enjoying music, dancing and closing off Commercial Drive from 1st Avenue to Venables to all traffic from 6pm until late into the evening. |

2006 Latin Summer Festival at Trout Lake in East Vancouver |

The Festival began on Commercial Drive with a small parade that caught the attention of those on August 20, 2006. After the parade, everyone converged on Trout Lake in East Vancouver to celebrate the Latin Culture with its colourful spirit, arts, music and foods. Hundreds basked in the sun,enjoying themselves. |

The 28th Annual Vancouver Pride Parade started on Sunday August 6, 2006 at Denman and Robson Streets, continued down Denman Street, making its way along Beach Avenue to Pacific and Thurlow Streets.The parade went from 12 noon to 2pm and ended up at Sunset Beach where the festivities continued throughout the day. |

As dusk settles on the evening at Trout Lake in East Vancouver on July 29th, people converge from near and far with their friends and family, to witness an evening of music, magically lit paper lanterns, and the laughter of hundreds as they journey around the lake enjoying the spectacle of the Luminares Lantern Procession. |

The Excitement of the 2006 World Cup Soccer Tournament lit up Commercial Drive in East Vancouver. The restaurants and bars along the Drive were filled with the many devote fans who animately showed their allegiance to their favourite teams. On many occasions, Commercial Drive was shut down by the crowds of celebrating fans. |

On June 18, 2006 Commercial Drive in East Vancouver,from 1st Avenue to Venables Street was closed to traffic. People throughout the Lower Mainland converged to enjoy the absence of cars in the summer sun. Live music, dancing, restaurants in the streets, artisans displayed their crafts and laughter filled The Drive. |

2006 Vaisakhi Day Parade - Vancouver |

On April 15, 2006 the Vaisakhi Day Parade began at Ross and Marine and proceeded west along Marine Drive then north on Main to 49th to Fraser, south on Fraser to 57th then east on 57th to Ross. This colourful Parade is essentially a harvest festival and new year rolled into one. |
